Acodin duo, antitussive syrup 0.3/100 ml

The drug Acodin Duo is available in the form of syrup and contains active substances: dextromethorphan hydrobromide and dexpanthenol. Dextromethorphan has an antitussive effect, inhibits the cough reflex by directly affecting the central nervous system. In the doses used, it does not inhibit the functioning of the ciliary apparatus of the bronchi (the structure responsible for the transport of secreted mucus). Dexpanthenol plays an important role in metabolism, including the regeneration of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.

Acodin Duo is used for the symptomatic treatment of dry cough of various origins (not related to the retention of secretions in the respiratory tract).

This medicine should always be used exactly as your doctor has told you and as indicated in this patient information leaflet. Do not exceed the recommended dosage. There have been reports of abuse of this medicine, including by children and adolescents. Use of this medicine may lead to addiction. Therefore, treatment should be short-term.

The active substances of the drug are dextromethorphan hydrobromide and dexpanthenol. 5 ml of syrup contains 15 mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide and 50 mg of dexpanthenol. Other ingredients are: sodium carmellose, glycerin, sucrose, sodium benzoate, food caramel, citric acid, food raspberry essence, purified water.

The syrup bottle is equipped with a measuring cup.
Adults and children over 12 years of age:
5 ml of Acodin Duo syrup up to 4 times a day.
If you feel that the effect of Acodin Duo is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor.

• If you are allergic to dextromethorphan, dexpanthenol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
• if you are taking medicines from the monoamine oxidase inhibitor group (some medicines used to treat depression, Parkinson’s disease) or have taken such medicines within the last 14 days.
• if you have respiratory failure or are at risk of developing it.
• if you suffer from bronchial asthma.
