Rosemary oil 100% essential

10ml

Rosemary oil is obtained from the flowering shoots of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), a low, aromatic shrub native to the Mediterranean region.

Rosemary oil smells exceptionally fresh and crisp. It seems frosty – inhaled from a tissue it leaves a feeling of coolness in the nostrils, and applied to the skin without dilution it stings like snow. Its scent is light and pleasant, menthol-herbal. It immediately invigorates the mind and puts in a good mood. It blends perfectly with the scent of lavender oil in a 1:1 ratio.

Rosemary oil is particularly valued for its ability to relieve muscle and joint pain. It also unclogs the respiratory tract, helps reduce cellulite, and has an antiseptic effect on the skin. But most interestingly, there are reports of its positive effect on cognitive abilities, and this is supported by clinical studies.

In a 2012 study by Moss and Oliver, participants were exposed to the scent of rosemary oil while solving mental tasks. The control group worked in rooms with a neutral scent. It turned out that people inhaling rosemary oil achieved better results than the control group and also dealt with the tasks much faster. 1,8-cineole – the active ingredient of the oil responsible for its positive effect on cognitive functions – circulated in the blood of the subjects. The higher its concentration, the better the results of the tasks solved [1].

Another interesting study was conducted by Sayorwan et al. in 2013. Volunteers were subjected to inhalation of rosemary oil (there was also a control group and a group inhaling almond oil). Then, the subjects underwent EEG and a series of tests on the nervous system and mood. Those who inhaled rosemary oil experienced an increase in heart rate and blood pressure, as well as changes in the image of brain waves. The subjects felt more lively and “refreshed”, but at the same time calm and relaxed [2].

The healing properties of rosemary were known and appreciated in ancient times. Its positive effect on concentration and memory was used by Greek and Roman scholars, who wore wreaths made from its shoots. Rosemary ointments were rubbed into aching muscles and joints, and infusions prepared from its leaves were drunk for liver problems and during abundant feasts to improve digestion.

FEATURES

  • The main advantage of rosemary oil is its analgesic effect. Used in massage or bathing, it has a great effect on tired muscles, relaxes them and supports their regeneration. Additionally, it soothes rheumatic pain.
  • Used in aromatherapy, it has a fantastic effect on the nervous system. It strengthens memory, promotes learning and aids concentration. It soothes the nerves and relieves headaches. Its scent brings joy and peace.
  • Steam inhalation with rosemary oil helps to clear and cleanse the respiratory tract, unblocks the blocked nose and sinuses, and makes breathing easier.
  • Rosemary oil kills bacteria and fungi, so it is worth using it to disinfect minor wounds, the mouth and throat, to care for skin affected by infection, and to disinfect the air and various surfaces.
  • When regularly rubbed into the skin (in dilution), it stimulates blood circulation and stimulates skin detoxification processes, facilitating the reduction of cellulite.
