Natural geranium oil is obtained from the leaves of the scented geranium – Pelargonium graveolens, belonging to the geranium family. This plant comes from South Africa, but is cultivated in many countries, especially in the Mediterranean basin.

Geranium oil has been used since ancient Egypt, among other things, to beautify the skin. It is perfect for the care of excessively dry, oily or combination skin – it regulates the amount of sebum secreted by it. In addition, massages with the addition of oil give great effects in cellulite therapy.

Baths with geranium oil alleviate the symptoms of cystitis, menstrual discomfort, menopause, and also have an antiseptic effect – they will help fight skin mycosis or bacterial infections. A dressing with the addition of oil will stop bleeding and speed up the healing of wounds, and a few drops in an aromatherapy burner will improve mood and repel insects.

Massages will bring relief in the case of neuralgia and joint pain. Inhalations will also be effective to alleviate respiratory infections. Added to household cleaning products, it will fight pathogenic mites and bacteria.

HOW TO USE

• Bath – add 5 drops to a water-filled bathtub, the bath should last up to 15 minutes.

• Foot soak – add 4-5 drops of oil to a bowl or basin filled with water and soak your feet for 10-15 minutes (fights foot fungus).

• Aromatherapy burner or diffuser – add 5 drops to water in vaporizer.

• Massage – dissolve up to 5 drops of oil in carrier oil, massage into skin.

• Inhalation – dissolve 3-5 drops of oil in a bowl of hot water, inhale the vapors covered with a towel.

• Anti-dandruff shampoo – mix 2-4 drops with 10 – 15 ml of shampoo.

• Cream for excessively dry or oily skin – add 1-2 drops of oil to the carrier oil and rub into the skin.

• Eco-cleaning – add oil to water with detergent (for wiping the floor, dusting).

• Ointment to relieve neuralgia, joint pain, limb swelling – mix with base oil in a 1:1 ratio and rub into the painful area three times a day.

• Gargle, mouthwash – 4 drops of oil dissolved in warm water

WARNINGS

This oil stimulates the secretion of estrogens and should not be used concurrently with contraceptive pills.

Contact with eyes and inner ear should be avoided.
