Description
Ketokaps Max is a medicine that contains the active substance ketoprofen in a dose of 50 mg in each capsule.
Ketoprofen is a drug with anti-inflammatory , analgesic , and antipyretic effects (it belongs to the group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs – NSAIDs). Ketoprofen’s mechanism of action is likely to involve inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of acute pain of various origins (e.g. muscle and joint pain, headache, toothache, dysmenorrhea) of mild to moderate intensity.
Active substance: Ketoprofenum
Composition
The active substance is ketoprofen. 1 capsule contains 50 mg of ketoprofen.
The other ingredients (excipients) are: macrogol 400, potassium hydroxide 50%, purified water and capsule shell composed of: gelatin, liquid, partially dehydrated sorbitol, cochineal red (E 124), purified water.
Dosage
Before use, read the leaflet, which contains indications, contraindications, data on adverse effects and dosage, and information on the use of the medicinal product, or consult a doctor or pharmacist, as any drug used improperly may pose a threat to your life or health.
- Adults and adolescents over 15 years of age: the recommended dose is 1 capsule up to 3 times a day, every 6 to 8 hours.
- Do not exceed the recommended maximum daily dose of 3 capsules (150 mg).
- The drug is administered orally. The capsule should be swallowed whole (do not chew it) with at least half a glass of water.
- Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms. If symptoms persist or worsen during the course of an infection (such as fever and pain), consult a doctor immediately.
- In some patients, it may be advisable to take drugs that neutralize or protect the gastric mucosa in order to reduce the risk of harmful effects of ketoprofen on the gastrointestinal tract.
- Ketokaps Max should not be used in children and adolescents under 15 years of age.

Contraindications
- hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients;
- history of hypersensitivity reactions such as bronchospasm, bronchial asthma, rhinitis, urticaria or other allergic reactions to ketoprofen, salicylates (including acetylsalicylic acid) or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Severe, rarely fatal, anaphylactic reactions have been reported in such patients;
- third trimester of pregnancy;
- active gastric and/or duodenal ulcer or history of gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration or perforation;
- bleeding diathesis;
- severe heart failure;
- severe liver or kidney failure.
