Description
Ibuprofen Aflofarm in tablets is an analgesic , antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drug . It belongs to a group of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The drug contains the active substance ibuprofen.
Indications
- Pain of various etiologies of mild to moderate intensity, including: headaches, migraines, toothaches, muscle pain, low back pain, bone and joint pain, neuralgia,
- painful menstruation,
- fever (including influenza, colds or other infectious diseases).

Composition
One coated tablet contains 400 mg of ibuprofen (Ibuprofenum).
The other ingredients are: hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate type A, corn starch, colloidal anhydrous silica, gum arabic, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E 171), a mixture of white beeswax and carnauba wax (Capol 1295)
Dosage
Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet orally every 4 hours after meals. The tablets should be taken with water.
Do not take more than 3 tablets a day (maximum daily dose of 1200 mg ibuprofen in divided doses).
The medicinal product should not be administered to children under 12 years of age.
Elderly: no dosage adjustment is required.
The lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time to relieve symptoms should be used. If the medicinal product is required for more than 3 days or the patient’s condition worsens, the patient should contact a doctor.
Contraindications
The medicinal product is contraindicated in patients:
- with hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or any of the excipients of the medicinal product,
- who have ever had allergy symptoms such as runny nose, hives or bronchial asthma after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs),
- with active or history of gastric and/or duodenal ulcer, perforation or bleeding, including those occurring after the use of NSAIDs,
- with bleeding diathesis,
- with severe hepatic failure, severe renal failure or severe heart failure,
- taking other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs at the same time, including COX-2 inhibitors (increased risk of side effects),
- in the third trimester of pregnancy.
