Indications
The drug Biotebal belongs to the group of vitamin preparations.
Biotebal is used for biotin deficiency.
Biotin supports the processes of keratin formation and the differentiation of epidermal cells, hair and nails, improving their condition.
Composition:
- Active substance – biotin.
- Excipients – sorbitol (E420), magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide.
1 tablet contains 5 mg of biotin.
Indications:
- Hair loss,
- hair and nail growth disorders,
- inflammation of the skin located around the eyes, nose, mouth and ears.
Dosage:
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose for adults is 5 mg, which is only 1 tablet a day.
Note: the medicine should be used regularly.
Contraindications:
Do not use the medicine in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the ingredients of the medicinal product.
Side effects:
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
- In isolated cases, gastrointestinal disturbances and urticaria may occur.
Interactions:
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking or have recently taken, including those obtained without a prescription.
- Anticonvulsants (phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital, primidone) and alcohol reduce biotin concentrations in the blood.
- Steroid hormones can accelerate the breakdown of biotin in tissues.
Warnings and precautions:
The medicine contains sorbitol. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, you should consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
Use with food and drink:
- While taking the drug, do not consume raw egg white at the same time, as this may inhibit the absorption of biotin.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding:
Before using this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
- The amount of biotin contained in Biotebal significantly exceeds the recommended daily intake for pregnant and breastfeeding women, so the drug should not be used by women during this period.
