What is Aleric Spray?
Aleric Spray is a medicine used for hay fever , containing mometasone furoate as an active substance – belonging to a group of medicines called corticosteroids. Mometasone furoate administered intranasally relieves symptoms of inflammation (swelling and irritation of the nasal mucosa), sneezing, itching and a feeling of nasal congestion and reduces the amount of nasal discharge.
Hay fever is characterized by symptoms such as:
– watery, runny nasal discharge and nasal congestion with irritation and swelling of the nasal mucosa (which may be accompanied by watery and itchy eyes), occurring at certain times of the year.
This is an allergic reaction caused by inhaling allergens (pollen from trees, grasses, weeds, as well as mold and fungus spores) and can last as long as the allergen persists in the environment. Individual allergens appear at similar times of the year, so the appearance of allergic rhinitis can be predicted (e.g. based on the pollen calendar). Aleric Spray reduces swelling and irritation of the nasal mucosa and thus relieves sneezing, itching, nasal congestion or nasal discharge caused by hay fever.
