Acatar Allergy 1 mg/ml, nasal spray, 10 ml

Acatar Allergy contains azelastine, which belongs to a group of medicines that work by preventing the effects of histamine (antihistamines) and other substances that the body produces during an allergic reaction, usually causing the patient to have a runny nose, sneezing, itching or a blocked nose.

Acatar Allergy is used for the symptomatic treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis and exacerbations (attacks) of non-seasonal allergic rhinitis.
Acatar Allergy nasal spray is intended for use in adults, adolescents and children over 6 years of age.
If after 3 days there is no improvement or the patient feels worse, talk to your doctor.

The active substance is azelastine hydrochloride 1 mg/ml.

The other ingredients are hypromellose 2910, disodium edetate, citric acid anhydrous, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride and purified water.

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Adults and children aged 6 years and over
The recommended dose is one spray (0.14 ml) in each nostril twice daily (0.56 mg azelastine hydrochloride).
How to use the spray

1. Blow your nose.
2. Before first use, remove the plastic protection from the cap.
3. Remove the protective cap.
4. Before first use, press the pump several times until the aerosol is sprayed evenly (3-4 times).
5. Apply one spray into each nostril while holding your head upright. Do not tilt your head back.
6. Wipe the pump tip and put on the protective cap.

Duration of use:
You should consult your doctor or pharmacist if your symptoms worsen or persist for more than 3 days without significant improvement despite the use of Acatar Allergy nasal spray.
Acatar Allergy should not be used for more than 4 weeks without medical supervision.

If you are allergic to azelastine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Acatar Allergy nasal spray must not be used in children under 6 years of age.
