Voltaren Forte 140 mg, 5 patches

Voltaren Forte is a drug that relieves pain. It belongs to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Voltaren Forte is intended for short-term (up to 7 days) local, symptomatic treatment of pain associated with acute strains, sprains or bruises of the upper and lower limbs, resulting from blunt trauma, in adolescents aged 16 years and older and in adults.

The active substance of the drug is diclofenac sodium. Each medicated patch contains diclofenac in the form of 140 mg diclofenac sodium.

The other ingredients are:

• Outer protective layer: Polyester non-woven fabric
• Adhesive layer: Polyacrylate dispersion Tributyl citrate Butylated hydroxyanisole (E 320)
• Protective layer (removable): Mono-silicone coated paper

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The recommended dose is one medicated patch once daily.

One medicated patch should be applied to the painful area. The maximum total daily dose is 1 medicated patch per day, even if more than one area is to be treated. Only one painful area should be treated at a time.

• if you are allergic to diclofenac or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
• if you are allergic to any other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID, e.g. acetylsalicylic acid or ibuprofen);
• if you have ever developed asthma attacks, hives or swelling and irritation of the nasal mucosa after taking acetylsalicylic acid or any other NSAID; 
• if you have an active stomach or duodenal ulcer; 
• on damaged skin (e.g. abrasions, cuts, skin burns), infected skin and inflamed skin (wet dermatitis) or eczema;
• in women in the last 3 months of pregnancy; 
• in children and adolescents under 16 years of age.
