Description
Protrivagin is a medicinal product containing lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus plantarum P 17630 for use, among others, in disorders of vaginal bacterial flora.
Indications
Protrivagin is indicated for use in adult women for:
- preventing the recurrence of vaginal infections by restoring and maintaining the optimal number of lactobacilli in the vagina;
- restoration of physiological vaginal flora after antibiotic therapy for bacterial vaginosis.
If after a short period there is no improvement or the patient feels worse, contact your doctor.
Active substance: Lactobacillus plantarum
Composition
The active substance of the drug is Lactobacillus plantarum P 17630. Each vaginal capsule contains 100,000,000 colony-forming units (CFU) of Lactobacillus bacteria. plantarum P 17630.
Other ingredients: corn starch, mannitol, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, colloidal hydrated silica. Capsule shell: gelatin, titanium dioxide (E 171).
How to use Protrivagin
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose for adult women is: 1 vaginal capsule daily for 6 consecutive days .
To prevent recurrence of vaginal infections, it is recommended to use, after initial treatment, one capsule per week for at least 4 weeks. Another option is 1 cycle of using one capsule per day for 6 consecutive days once a month for 3 months.
Insert the capsule deep into the vagina, while lying on your back, in the evening before bedtime.
Taking more Protrivagin than recommended
There are no known cases of overdose.
In case of accidental ingestion/swallowing of Protrivagin causing an overdose, inform your doctor immediately or contact the nearest hospital.
If you forget to take Protrivagin
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed capsule.
