Groprinosin Forte 1000 mg, 30 tablets

Groprinosin Forte in tablets is an antiviral and immune-enhancing drug (stimulates the immune system), which has inosine pranobex as an active substance, which inhibits the in vitro multiplication of human pathogenic viruses from the Herpes group. Groprinosin Forte has immunostimulating and antiviral effects, which result from a clear stimulation of the host’s immune response in vivo under the influence of the drug.

• Supportively in people with reduced immunity, in case of recurrent upper respiratory tract infections.
• Treatment of cold sores on the lips and face caused by the herpes simplex virus. Groprinosin Forte can only be used in patients who have previously been diagnosed with a herpes simplex infection.

The active substance of the drug is inosine pranobex (a complex containing inosine and 2-hydroxypropyldimethylammonium 4-acetamidobenzoate in a molar ratio of 1:3). One tablet contains 1000 mg of inosine pranobex.

Other ingredients are: potato starch, povidone K-25, magnesium stearate.

The drug is administered orally, the tablet should be taken with an appropriate amount of fluid, preferably water.

The usual duration of treatment is 5 to 14 days. After the symptoms have subsided, the drug should be continued for another 1 to 2 days.

Recommended dose:

Adults, including the elderly (over 65 years old)

• The recommended dose is 50 mg/kg body weight per day.
• The usual daily dose is 3 tablets (3 g) per day (i.e. 1 tablet 3 times a day).
• The maximum daily dose is 4 tablets (4 g) per day (i.e. 1 tablet 4 times a day).

Groprinosin Forte should not be used in children under 1 year of age.

Children over 1 year of age

• The recommended dose is 50 mg/kg body weight per day, administered in several divided doses.
• For children who cannot swallow tablets, it is recommended to administer Groprinosin Forte in syrup.

• Allergy to inosine pranobex or any of the other ingredients of the drug.
• If you are currently having a gout attack (severe joint pain with swelling and redness of the skin or effusion in large joints) or tests have shown increased levels of uric acid in your blood.
