Mucopect Kids 50 mg/mL, syrup, 200 ml

Mucopect Kids is a medicine that contains a drug substance called carbocisteine . It belongs to a group of substances called “mucolytics”, used in the treatment of respiratory diseases associated with excessive secretion of mucus in the bronchi. Carbocisteine ​​causes a decrease in the viscosity of mucus (phlegm), thanks to which it is more easily removed from the respiratory tract during coughing.

Mucopect Kids should not be used for longer than 4 to 5 days without a doctor’s recommendation. If there is no improvement or the patient feels worse after this time, contact your doctor.

Mucopect Kids is used for the symptomatic treatment of respiratory diseases associated with excessive production of thick and sticky secretions.

The active substance of the drug is carbocisteine. 1 mL of syrup contains 50 mg of carbocisteine.

The other ingredients are: methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), caramel (E 150d), sucrose, gooseberry flavour “Aroma grosella 63 2334” [propylene glycol, ethyl formate, isopentyl acetate, 4-(4-hydroxyphenyl)butan-2-one, 3-methylbutan-1-ol, Barosma betulina extract, acetic acid, 4-(2,6,6-trimethylcyclohex-1-ene-1-yl)-but-3-ene-2-one], sodium hydroxide and purified water.

Use the measuring cup (5 mL measuring spoon) to measure the appropriate amount of medication for the patient (child or adult) according to the recommended dosage. The measuring spoon used for oral doses has a volume of 5 mL and is graduated at 1.25 mL, 2.5 mL, 3.75 mL and 5.0 mL.

Typically, the medicine is used as follows:

• Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: the dose for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age is: 15 mL of syrup three times daily. After symptoms have improved, the dose should be reduced to 10 mL of syrup three times daily.
• Children aged 6 to 12 years: 5 mL of syrup three times daily.
• Mucopect Kids is not recommended for children under 6 years of age.
• After taking a dose of syrup, close the bottle carefully.
• Do not take this medicine before going to bed. The last dose should be taken no later than 4 hours before going to bed.
• The medicine should not be used for longer than 4 to 5 days without a doctor’s recommendation.
• It is recommended to drink more fluids while using Mucopect Kids.
