Envil throat, 20 lozenges

Indications for use:

Antiseptic and local anesthetic product with added zinc for use in:

– inflammation of the throat and mouth,

– inflammation of the gums,

– infections and ulcers of the oral mucosa (aphthae, thrush),

– preventing the formation of bacterial plaque.

It can be used as an adjunct in the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections accompanied
by sore throat and tonsillitis (angina).

• The active substances of the drug are: cetylpyridinium chloride, lidocaine hydrochloride, zinc gluconate. One lozenge contains: 1.5 mg of cetylpyridinium chloride, 1.0 mg of lidocaine hydrochloride and 17.42 mg of zinc gluconate (equivalent to 2.5 mg of zinc ions).
• The other ingredients are: menthol, microcrystalline cellulose, mannitol, povidone, aspartame, anhydrous citric acid, croscarmellose sodium, talc, magnesium stearate, glycerol.

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Duration of use of the medicine
Do not use for more than 5 consecutive days without consulting a doctor.
The tablet should be sucked slowly in the mouth. It should not be chewed or swallowed.

Recommended dose
Adults: suck one tablet slowly every 1 or 2 hours.
Do not exceed 8 tablets per day.
Children over 6 years: suck one tablet slowly every 2 or 3 hours.
Do not exceed 6 tablets per day.

Use in children
Envil throat should not be used in children under 6 years of age.

If you use more Envil throat than you should
If you use more than you should, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
The following symptoms of overdose may occur:
nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, metallic taste in the mouth, headache, collapse (cardiac arrest with loss of consciousness), convulsions, coma.

If you forget to use Envil throat
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

When not to use Envil throat

• if you are allergic to cetylpyridinium chloride, lidocaine hydrochloride, zinc gluconate (active substances), other local anesthetics from the amide group or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
• if you have severe liver or kidney failure;
• if you suffer from methemoglobinemia – a very rare blood disease in which the blood loses its ability to carry oxygen to the body’s cells;
• in children under 6 years of age.
